I have have my AV system (spec'ed below) for a fair while now, I have been completely happy with it for movies. While the Denon 1802 is great in movies, music has been nice but only average sounding. I recently picked up a great deal on a very good condition second hand RB960BX Classic Stereo Power Amplifier (60 WRMS x 2 @ 8 ohms) it only cost me £125. I hooked it up to my Denon AVR 1802 pre-outs and checked the speaker levels were the same with the SPL meter. I fired up a few songs, the improvment was massive, trebble is now clear, the mid bass is so much more punchy and the overall achiveable SPL level is quite a bit more. I can now listen at a fairly decent volume and the system does not feel strained anymore. I will be getting a different CD player soon as my DVD player is not that great source for music. My AV setup is as follows. MY SPEC: All calibrated with a RadioShack SPL meter. DVD Player Lg 3220e. Amplifier Denon AVR-1802. Rotel RB960BX Power Amplifier. Mission M73 Floorstanders.
