I'll probably end up handing over £4.95 to get that benefit back; I have an Unlimited card but the 10% discount on the uplift for IMAX and SuperScreen comes in handy during blockbuster season plus I often end up booking tickets for my mates when they tag along.

@SteveAWOL - if you have an unlimited card, are you saying that you receive an additional 10% discount (on top of your existing discount) for IMAX and SuperScreen, if you chose to pay an additional £4.95 per year (on top of your unlimited fees)?

As of today, I'm no longer receiving a 10% discount on Superscreen (used to pay £2.25 when booking online, instead of £2.50 on the door) or IMAX 3D (used to cost me £5.40 rather than £6).

There's still the grey box showing me how much cheaper it is to book tickets for friends not on Unlimited but the discount on uplifts appears to be no more; so there's not much incentive to pay the £4.95 if that's the case

Just cancelled my unlimited card. All the other cinemas in Hull dropped their prices to under a fiver with Reel at £4.00 per film. I would have to go 5 times a month to make it worthwhile.

I don't like these "pay fees for a discount" schemes - Game have a similar one. Smacks of greed and poor way to do business IMO.

I tweeted Cineworld and was informed that I would get the 10% discount on IMAX uplift if I signed up, which I can confirm is the case

Received an email with 3 codes which each provide £2 discount on combos and are valid for 12 months.

Just cancelled my unlimited card. All the other cinemas in Hull dropped their prices to under a fiver with Reel at £4.00 per film. I would have to go 5 times a month to make it worthwhile.

I'd do the same if my local multiplexes were so competitively priced but the last time a cinema ticket cost less than a fiver in my neck of the woods was back in the 1990s!

My nearest Odeon charges £10.95 just for a bog standard 2D screening, which is only a quid less than nearest Superscreen (4K with Dolby Atmos).

Add in Odeon's Blockbuster Tax plus 3D surcharge and it'd cost me £14.45 to watch this summer's big releases there, or I can watch them in IMAX at local Cineworld for £5.40; so I only need to go twice a month to get my money's worth from Limitless Plus.

Here it's £4.00 at Reel, but parking is payable. Vue is £4.95 but parking is free after 6pm. Odeon is I think £4.95 but they do a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 kids for £16.00. Cineworld, which I can't see lasting much longer with their prices, £9.00 each.

Adult tickets at my nearest Reel are £7.95 with Family tickets priced at £23.60. My local Odeon and Vue multiplexes are also around twice as expensive as those in Hull.

So I am surprised to see your local Cineworld are trying to charge double the regional competition, when they haven't even got an IMAX screen to lure customers away from them.

I guess there would need to be a bespoke version of the Unlimited scheme priced appropriately for Hull (as there is for London's West End) to make it more appealing.

Must admit the local Vue is £4.99 for any film any time and my local Cineworld is almost double that - can't understand how they can justify that.
