Hi all, I've never posted any photos on here before so thought I'd share a few of my best (what I think are anyway). I've had my Nikon D50 for 16 months and am still getting used to it, currently I only have the kit lens 18-55mm and a Sigma 70-300mm lens which I've used for all these photos apart from the sunset. Let me know what you think but please be nice :D

Sunset (what I could see at least, uncropped so still shows part of sign on far right) from the car park at work:

Lion set, they're in sepia because I wanted to put them on my wall at home:

    Otters:

    Monkey ready to jump:

One which I took with some friends thought it was a cool shot (only reason this has the copyright thing was coz it went on a car forum or 2):

    Thanks for looking

I've always read the threads and looked at all the photos posted by others and thought I wish I could take photos like you lot so thought the pics weren't at that same standard. I just decided what the hell I'd like some feedback to see what people thought of them. Thanks for your kind comments I currently have the 2nd lion photo on my living room wall above my tv finishes the wall of nicely :D

    Thanks

    Alex

nice exposure in 1, just needs more interesting or better composed foreground detail to really give it the edge.
2 & 4 are lovely scenes I wish they were sharper but who cares ;)
The mirror-image like composition in 2 is superb, and the paw dangling over the edge makes no 4 for me.
    Great shots!

Great capture on all of them.
I particularly like No2 (sleeping lions) & last one of the cars.

Time to upgrade to some decent lenses though I think your current lenses are letting you down by being a little soft in places.

    Look forward to seeing more......

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. The first picture was one of my very first taken with my camera when I bought it and was a rushed pic as I ran out to my car and quickly grabbed my camera then snapped a few before having to get back to work. If I had the time I would've liked to drive over the road as there's a huge field where you can get far better shots. There's a couple of reasons I chose sepia for the lions, 1st being coz my walls at my house are brown so it just fitted in best and 2nd reason was because they didn't come out as sharp as I would've hoped. That day was my first outing with my 70-300mm lens so there were a lot of hit and miss pics while I practised and they were handheld as I hadn't got round to buying a tripod then. I definitely need to invest in a decent tripod and new lenses just need to save some money first and learn what the differences are so will get reading up in the meantime.

Here are a few I've dug out from my visit to the British Motorshow last year:

    Thanks
