Well it only took 7 months! But I am now the proud owner of my Yamaha 1400! Excellent (Thank god anyone who's seen my previous threads must be thinking!)

Got it on Wednesday whihc is actually to the day when they said it would arrive - how I didn't have any more delays I don't know! Its also the reason why I haven't been on the PC since!

Took me 3 hours to connect all the cables and sort out the room and then siwtch on - ran auto setup and then realised that I'm going to need a good free weekend in order to set it all up correctly. The YPAO seems to have worked things correctly but it may be that a lot of the settings are all way above my head!

Unfortunately I am away this weekend, so it'll be next week before I have a proper play, so expect a few questions next week (and probably some hacked off neighbours!), as for now I am just happy to have the lump of titianium in my front room! :smashin:

Bet it wasn't a black receiver for less than £500 though ;)

Thanks Mark for posting the link to my adventures - thik I gave a few updates on a few other threads too, but all the info is mainly in that one.

Worth it in the end? Yeah I reckon so, almost an anti-climax but think that's due to not having time to set it up right - roll on the weekend!!

Fantastic :D When you get it all set up you wil love it. The auto setup isnt to bad and is quite accurate. I have found that it sets it up to 80db not 75 db though. A final run with a SPL is still recommended.

No - Vodder and me got ours for approx. £500 from Germany :D
When I ordered mine the cheapest over here was still pretty much the RRP, but even at Avland's discount price I would still probably have ordered from Germany anyway as I wanted mine in black and they were only available in titanium here in the UK.

After all the messing about and Natwest refunding me a wad for messing about even more, my total cost including postage was £479 :smashin:

Not quite the huge savings now as it would have been back in February but still got be one of my best buys of the year....
