Next thing to do - get Gordon to come down and calibrate it. Well worth the money.

sorry, never got Hitachi. Was on my list but noise is a n issues for me.

Pioneer is good but probably require calibration which I will obviously do after 100 hours.

Guys, who uses MODE2 what settings do you have.

I am using MODE 2 which seems to me more realistic but maybe a little bit dim.

    Hi,

Stick with mode 2 for the first 100 hours or so of use. I've just set mine up to mode 1 now - wow, what a difference! I'll also be getting mine calibrated by Gordon after a few more months of use. :smashin:

I think the Hitachi 42 pma 400e is a fab plasma, good value for money :smashin:
sky is very good i don't get any jagged edges,so i don't have to folk out pounds on a iscan unit

I would go as far to say it's just as good as my previous CRT tv.
Watching DVD films is amazing :D

Some people don't like ALiS screens but i have no problem with it, each to their own.

THE BIG PLUS IT HAS NO FLICKER UNLIKE THE PANNY 5/6

from one very happy owner :)

    Cheers for your imput dvd

yes it certainly is value for money, on the 400e, saving 500 quid on the panny 6, which can go on towards many things, leave it in the bank a few years, and your nearly have enough to upgrade your plasma when the time is right

I see you use a non conventnal stand, I saw a pic of your set up
on the forum (atleast im sure it was yours)
did you find the stand somewhere that dose cheeper custom stands for alot less than 150?

also do you hear your fans during quite sceens in films?

would you say your xbox churned out more noise than the 400e?

are the fans, (if u can here them) on all the time or only when it gets hot?

your help & advice would be greatly appreciated from a 400e owner to a possible 400e owner this week

    cheers again
    wiry:smoke:
