...in particular those who never played it !

How many times have you heard :

'it's basically an add-on, graphics are the same' ?

After having played solo and multiplayer I have to say I disagree completely.:thumbsdow

I noticed the following

1. Bigger environments
2. More detailed and more realistic textures
3. Characters look better and have more details
4. Characters move even better than before
5. The lightning looks much better
6. More real time shadowing
7. More ambiant effects

Finally even the sound effects have improved and, maybe i's only a feeling, but it seems the game runs a bit faster than before and precision has also been improved

Multiplayer feels more balanced, perfect

Not sure but it looks like they got rid of the laggy hit detection issue

No there isn't
2. More detailed and more realistic textures
Same low resolution textures. actually looks awful compared to it's competitors.
3. Characters look better and have more details
not really.
4. Characters move even better than before
just the ragdoll physics. it was just wack before
5. The lightning looks much better
Doesnt look good. just gimicky, can't interact.
6. More real time shadowing
on pre-sscripted like in vehicles.. not good interaction.
7. More ambiant effects
like what?

sounds are same quality.. :S and it's the same engine.. it runs the same as before.
lol

I would say it does look good but only slightly better than mw2. Where this game has exceled compared to other cod's is the balance.

It's perfect, lag can sometimes be an issue but hey just back out and find another lobby.:smashin:

I agree it looks better sounds better runs smoother, but at this point the consoles development life the difference isn't dramatic enough for some people to notice or they'd rather just be a negative Nancy and say things with no factual basis... Cough.

As a very average player usually running a negative k/d ratio it has enough to keep me coming back for more against the CoD gods but I wouldn't say its perfect.
Special ops survival mode, Kill Confirmed and specialist streaks have been the highlights for me. With lag and spinning quickscopers the downsides. Oh and stupid singing kids online but thats not MW3 fault!

Nice to hear some comments to balance out all the moans. :smashin: I agree with a lot of it - many of the changes in MW3 are subtle and you would need to have put a lot of time into the other CODs to appreciate the differences. It doesn't surprise me that the more casual player wouldn't notice any difference between MW3 and MW2, but they are there. Besides, all I wanted was for MW3 to play like MW2, so in that respect I couldn't really ask for anything more.

Multi maps are still 'small' this is true, but look at what big and destructible environments do to playability! Sorry dude but I got used to 60fps now and in this respect BF3 was a MAJOR disapointment

Your comments feel biased..

I love video games, own every platform and try to be as objective as possible

Believe me I expected BF3 to become the new standard but on consoles it failed miserably, imo.

I strongly dis-agree with you however for the rest of your comments

If you simply play the first solo mission in MW3 you will notice:

More DETAILED and more REALISTIC textures

Soldiers are more detailed and realistic

Even your own weapon looks more detailed

The air is full of glowing and grey ashes (reminiscent of Killzone 3 ambient effects)

Smoke and explosions have also been improved

And I could go on

I mean on a whole the game looks graphically more realistic than ever before, end of story

What TV do you have?

I have a 55' LED full hd 3d screen and believe me I see every little detail and nuance

I own all COD games and compared them

Sadly I couldnt disagree more with you. While dickscoping is possible in this, there can be no hope of "balance". When you have a class of gun that is deadly at close quarters, medium and long distance with such ease then how can that be balanced?????

Every class of gun should have its pros and cons. The sniper rifle has no cons when you can use it as a shotgun in effect. :thumbsdow

Awwww do the snipers kill you Al when your hiding in your corner with the HB Sensor....frakking noob play like a man and stab those quickscoping fools or just man up and put up with it.
Stop moaning like the little bitch you are, its getting boring :boring::boring:

Shat it Tones you tart, you`re beginning to sound like a man who`s dabbled in the dark arts of dickscopery. Give me your address old boy and i`ll send you a large pair of cojones to strap on and man-up :rotfl:

lol you clearly dont play this if this is what you think, the amount of times ive had enemies spawn right behind me then proceed to shoot me in the back is beyond a joke.

Assault kill streaks are hard enough to get without this happening.

Perfect MP for me would be
1. Get rid of aim assist or whatever the **** you want to call it.
2. Get rid of snipers, this isnt Battlefield.
3. Stop putting random clutter for people to get stuck on in the maps.
4. Map specific searches like Call of Duty 2 where you could select maps you wanted to play on.
5. Specific game types, knife only / pistols only and so on.

I remember games of COD2 when we would get a room full of people and just go round knifing each other lol it was fun.

If you dislike QS that much use Ballistic Vests no OHKs I haven't tested it, but on wikia it says they stack too.

Good thread Easynow.

But it's quite ironic compared to your thread about Graphic improvments in the last 10 years, I don't want to cause offence or anything, just saying.

I think I haven't been clear enough

What I mean in the other thread is that we haven't had a RADICAL leap forward in years, the kind which makes you actually wonder how this is possible..the one which will make you call up your friends because you have to share your 'incredible' experience

I actually think this sometime when i'm playing BF3 (on the PC though).

Sometimes i just stand still and think how brilliant it all looks.

Anyway back to the subject at hand.....

You can share your BF3 experience on the other thread if you feel it's appropriate
