I got my first shipment from MVC this morning.

3 DVDs I ordered on 31st Dec. when I was checking for sales.

Two came in separate packaging even though they could have easily got both into one box and the box it comes in doesnt fit through my letterbox!!. So the postie left them on the doorstep!!!! Anyone who knows would easily be able to determine whats in the box...

oh well at least they are here, well x2 of 3 aint bad i guess.

hehe. my psotman did the same. He brought Simpsons season 2. but nobody was at home so he left it on the doorstep and my mum picked it up in the evening.
Not the greatest idea when it says £32.99 on the parcel.
well at least I didn't have to go the post office the day later.

At least they did not do they did to one poor soul left a note to say they had put it in the bin round the back for security only thing it was the same day as the bin collection and when he looked the bin was empty.
Best thing to do if you know a parcel is due is put a note on the door for it to be re-delivered to next door if they are in during the day.

My local postmen used to leave parcels outside my door until a couple of years ago. Used to drive me nuts. Thankfully we have had more sensible postmen since then (and I have made more of an effort to be friendly with them) and they always take stuff back and attempt re-delivery another day :)

I've used MVC loads of times - they were always quick and accurate. :)

I received an order from Play.com yesterday. I didn't realise they're based in Jersey. Handy though, as they came in two envelopes, so they fitted through the letter box. There's a good reason for that: there's a loop-hole in VAT rules, so you don't pay on items worth less than 18 quid. That means if they send the films separately, you don't pay VAT!

I guess you could always fit a great big letter box if you're worried about items not fitting through. A sort of 'postman flap', if you will.

Leaving parcels on doorsteps is a serious conduct offence in Royal Mail Ltd. If this is happening to you complain to your local customer services office.

My postie once left a £300 hard drive in a bush. To say I wasn't impressed was an understatement!
