Hi all, Continuing my search for CD player, I want to ask you all more about Musical Fidelity. Yesterday I got a call from one of the hi fi store and he offered me again CD players, Musical Fidelity A3 and A3.2 A3 is around 450pounds and A3.2 is around 750pounds. They were products from display. I want to ask if any of you friends ever had experience with these products? What are the differences between both of them, because I can't find info about A3 in MF site? I haven't heard any of them yet, because the store was quite far. What about the price? is it okay for the ex-display products? Thanks b4, a-k
At £450, the A3 is a real bargain - you owe it to yourself to at least give it a demo. It was £800 new (a few years ago) and worth it (some would say it was worth much more). Cheers, Dunc
A3 is excellant CD player for that price. Early models had the gold trim and this was replaced by silver/platinum about 18 months ago.
Aka. Most cetainly agree. Musical Fidelity, i feel (my own opinion!) have gone from strength to strength over the recent years (their back-up/service relations have also improved hand over fist of late - it would not be unfair to say that in years gone by their after-sales service was very poor indeed) although i think their pre-amps are the highlights. Both of these players are "serious" in my opinion and as stated 450 for the 3 is good value for money, i presume you will of course have the option of actually being able to hook both players up to "an amp" and make more or less direct comparisons in a demo situation. Dependant on what YOU are actually connecting them too you might reach the conclusion that there are insufficient "gains" in "audible improvement" (your kit will be a factor here) to warrant an additional 300.00. I am sure you are aware of all this anyway and are "looking" for reassurance? I would have NO qualms whatsoever in purchasing an MF player, in fact my thoughts have turned very recently to the same type of purchase and have put the feelers out for a 3.2/300/308 power amp also. Steve.
Guys, you all right... A3 is a great CD player, yesterday I demoed it and it is very nice indeed. unfortunately I can not test the A3.2 because it's not arrived yet. The A3 is an ex display belong to the store, and have one year warranty. You are so right Steve, now I am really curious about A3.2 and wonder if I'm gonna spend another 300... cheers,a-k
Well, finally I got myself the A3 CD player... can not afford another 300 and this one already satisfied me... I thank you all... cheers,a-k
