    My system is as follows...

    Sony FS76
    Pioneer 717
    Sony STRDB 930
    B&W601s3 fronts
    B&WLCR60s3 Centre
    B&WDM610's Rears
    REL SrataIII

Ok, Soon i will be looking to upgrade my DVD player and AMP as i use these for ordinary CD replay as well and dont think they do any justice to my fronts(plus i fancy a change).

Not entirely sure of my budget just to complicate matters, probably around £500 for the amp and the same for the DVD player, although both of these can be stretched if i have to.

Suggestions for a DVD player thats great with movies AND music, same for Amp too please....

A "musical" AV amp is an oxymoron :) have you considered solving your music problem by buying an integrated amp and a quality cd player? Many av amps have pre-outs (don't know your amp I'm afraid) that can run to the integrated amp thereby driving one set of speakers for AV & music. A good cd player will beat all but the most expensive dvd players.

If you can't have the extra boxes solution then Denon is always a good starting point - a combination of the DVD player 2800 mkII which is being sold for daft money at the mo cos it's about to be replaced with a 2802 (same again) will give you a respectable sounding solution. It still won't beat the integrated amp and cd player though.

Also see answer to similar question (or was it you posting twice?) in the DVD player forum.

    Hi manuman
Try and get a demo of the nad t752 receiver if you havent got room for more boxes this receiver maybe what you want it sounds good with movies and music.
You could also go for one of nads dvd players which go for around £400 and also have hdcd decoder built in.
    Good hunting Gonzo.

I've not heard the current NAD DVD players ... but have read that they are nothing special as either a DVD player or a CD player ... best is 2 separate boxes.

    Hi sounddog
Its best not to beleive everything you read as being gospel. If i had i would have never bought my nad receiver but i do have to agree that having separate dvd and cd players is the best solution and for £500 you would be able to get a decent dvd and cd players.
    Gonzo.

Yes I agree about not believing all you read ... I had a NAD T550 and while it wasn't bad ... it wasn't as good at music as you might have thought it would be coming from NAD.
