Just wondered what music dvds anyone has ?
    i have a few
    band sound picture
Feetwood mac ,The dance 5.1 / stereo 4.3
Stereo on one side 5.1 on other stereo good 5.1 too much going on in the rears Guitars from behind etc what a drummer ive been tryiing to play like that for years My quality street tins need replacing, come on youve all played the tins, Havnt you!
    Metallica , S & M 5.1 stereo 4.3
Lots of extras multi angle etc and a good sound to the music, took a chance on buying this one not my fav band
The Cure Greatist hits 5.1 stereo 4.3
This is cool takes me back to my student days in the late 70s early 80s good sound in both formats classic videos some live acoustic and 4 hidden tracks( nice lipstick)
The old grey whistle test stereo 4.3
You gotta get this one Then youll know where all your recent bands nicked their ideas
Bon jovi The crush tour stereo 4.3
errr good drummer ! thats it really
Eagles Hell freezes over dts 5.1 stereo 4.3
nice sound apart from an awful audio onlty track on dts as a bonus ,no thanks, A quality band a bit old these boys so most of the performance they sit down Bless em! They still do it good
Bruce springsteen Video anthology 5.1 stereo 4.3
Classic vids and some live great 5.1 sound on some tracks many remixed for this release
    Ac/Dc No bull 5.1 stereo 4.3
Who says you cant become millionaires buy playing 3 chords, put Quo to shame stick to the stereo sound track, good image only 4.3 tho
Ac/Dc Stiff upper lip dts 5.1 stereo 16.9
Wow how to upset the neighbours pure rock,Rock solid sound a few minor flaws oh and a hard drummer i dont think this guy needs his drums amping
Scorpions Acoustica dts 5.1 stereo 16.9
Hadnt listened to these since about 81,acoustic versions of their heavy metal tracks,The sound in all format is A1 a few extras, this is the best dts / 5.1 ive heard on a music dvd so far subtle use of rears for the right reasons oh and a few leather clad ladys for good measure

Any others i should be buy
Did you work out i play the drums Very badly i may add:devil:

    Metallica - Cunning Stunts
Metallica - S&M (For ages these were the only discs in my collection that used multi-angle)
Pearl Jam - Touring Band 2000
Led Zep - Song remains the same
    AC/DC No Bull
AC/DC Stiff Upper Lip (better of the 2 - Awesome DTS)
    Van Halen - Singles (Videos)

Still prefer my music in 2-channel Stereo though.
Also found that most 5.1 live tracks just tend to put the audience track through the rears, rather than being a true 5.1 mix.

Well, you asked for it and I'm about to give my age away here:)

Anyway, in addition to some of those already mentioned:

Corrs Unplugged - tremendous sound production for such a big 'ensemble' and really shows off a good system
James Taylor - Live at the Beacon Theatre - immaculate performance that captures the hall acoustic well
Yes - Live at the House of Blues - a must for Yes fans, although Rick Wakeman is missing - Steve Howe's guitar playing is incendiary:)
Kenny Loggins - Outside from the Redwoods - my all round favourite singer songwriter in a beaut of a live show (corny in parts only)
Santana - Supernatural Live - good to see the old guy at work:)
Whitney Houston's Greatest Hits - oh well, at least there've been plenty of them unlike other so-called collections

    Alice In Chains Unplugged

Alice In Chains: Music Bank - The Videos (Incredible 5.1 mixes of all their videos)

G3 - Live In Concert (Satriani, Johnson & Vai - one for guitar fans!)

Steve Vai - Alien Love Secrets (picked this up at one of his concerts, it's Region 0 i think, 5.1, multi angles)

    Metallica - Cunning Stunts

Metallica - S&M (nice use of isolated soundtracks for band and orchestra)

Bill Bailey - Bewilderness (well it's partly music :))

@RATMARK, yep, that's the one. Said to be better than "Lord of the Dance" (also by Michael Flatley). I think it's great music, nice to watch on DVD.

Reading the "varied" musical tastes above makes me a little worried about the company that I have been keeping over the past few months !!
No mention of The Super Furries DVD.... Oh dear !!
Think you lot should stick to films and Home Cin. Hardware !

And I think I should stick to ignoring you, as I do with anyone who chooses to stick their noses in to what I like to listen to.

Reading the "varied" musical tastes above makes me remember what an objective thing music is and that we all have the right to listen to whatever the hell we want! When's that Val Doonican DVD coming out? :)

Gary... it must be the finest music DVD out there....... in every respect.
Only possible gripes being that its all in 4:3. and the menus, though fun, can get you a little lost. But thats only because there is so much on it !

I have a lot of music stuff with which I will not bore you (well not too much anyway!)
My current fave is Roger Waters - In the Flesh (R1 only at the mo)
Even if the [email protected]@rds released some PF I would still watch this - Great selection of PF & Rogers own stuff with a pretty decent 5.1 mix (loads of good "effects" placement - like the laughing in Brain Damage etc) 153minutes of class & some extras as well ...
    Enjoy ... Paul ;)

I have a few - Bjork, Depeche Mode, Madonna etc but they are all in PCM Stereo (still sounds ok tho) but if you want to listed to something that will blow you away and make your mates jaws go slack, then get The Orbitals 'The Altogether'. The album was specially written for 5.1 rather than mixed as an afterthought, and features a DD and DTS soundtrack, and is awesome. The first time I watched it, I kept saying to myself things like 'wow', 'jeez' and 'oh yeah'. Not much surprises me these days, but I was struck dumb by what can be done with music when 6 channels are played with rather than 2.

I STRONGLY reccomend that this disc be heard. The visuals are pretty good, and in keeping with the type of music. Its an excellent all-rounder.

Can't believe no-one's listed "Stop Making Sense" the Talking Heads concert directed by Jonathan Demme.

Uncut called it " The most extraordinary rock movie ever made".

Choice of three audio mixes. This one will blow you away if you've never seen it.

    :p :p :p

Also got "The Dance" and Wagner's "Ring" cycle on a four disc box set.
