I am planning a DIY multiroom project using my PC as a hard disk based
audio server. Then using wired (CAT5/6) network to either a SLIM device or ROKU soundbridge. What I would like is a really simple amplifier (If possible socket based) so it can fit in the wall(like a light switch) with on/off and volume control.
This would take line in and output to some in ceiling speakers.
I've hunted high and low to no avail.
Any help or ideas would be apppreciated.

I have a slim device but it has to issues you should know about if you haven't bought yet.

    1. It wont play music purchased on iTunes
    2. The irritating firewall safeguard under network connections / advanced stops you playing to the slim device and everytime you boot up your PC Microsoft XP ticks it again.

I don't think there is much that will play iTunes purchased music, mostly down to the DRM Apple use.
