I have just installed a second monitor to my PC. I have a problem when I drag WMP11 from one screen to the other, the video goes blank on the second monitor with dvr-ms files only.

I am using a 6800GT - DVI to main 20" monitor and VGA to second 15" monitor. Using WMP11 and nvidia purevideo decoder. All other video files work fine, divx, wmv, mpg etc... BUT if I play back a recorded tv prog from my Media Center PC I can only watch it on the main monitor, not on the secondary one

    Any ideas?

    :lease:

It is to do with overlay i think, but i don't have space on my desk for my 2nd monitor at the moment, so can't test.

A lot of videos will only be displayed on your primary monitor with native windows multi-monitor support.

Installing a program such as UltraMon (it is essential for quality multi-monitor setups) will cure this problem.

I have a dual screen setup (one wide, one normal) and I can move my WMP from screen to screen and it plays flawlessly, whereas before UltraMon DVDs would not play on my secondary monitor.

I havent used DVR-MS files, so cant comment on those, but you cant lose with UltraMon, so why not give it a go.

Interestingly - this works properly under Windows Vista.
