Multi Satellite outlets

Hi,

First time user on this forum and looking for some help & guidance.

We are about to renovate our main living area in our 1930's bungalow, whilst doing so I wish to eliminate the number of visible wires/cables that currently go to various AV equipment in the room. For the most part this will be very straight forward, however I am quite confused as to how to cable up for the 3 satellite (Sky + HD) I would like, the purpose is to add to the flexibility of where the TV is loacated in the room without cables being strewn all over the place.

The dish is mounted just outside this room with the cables coming into the sunlounge that adjoins the main living area.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated but remember I am as per my username an absolute beginner at this lark and although from a technical background I am not up to speed with all the different terminologies used freely on this forum, I tend to understand and assimilate info best if it is KISS principle based.

Thanks.

just run 4x CT100 cables from the dish, you are covered for everything then.

run then to where the box/ boxes are going to

Thanks llama,

this is exactly what I mean though, complete novice, wher do the 4 x cables connect to on the dish, are there 4x ouputs on the dish to allow thi?

Sorry for appearing to be a complete numpty here but I really have no knowledge on this subject whatsoever. Ask me about the operation of a coal fired power station or the workings of an internal combustion engine and I'll bore you for hours.

There are various types of lnb (the bit on the arm in front of dish) and on a Sky minidish these can be single, quad (4 outputs) or octo (8 outputs). You connect cables from these outputs to the rooms required - one cable required per tuner - a standard box has one tuner and PVRs have two tuners. How to fit an lnb and cables here

Thanks Davemurgatroyd2,

I now have an idea of where to start,:smashin:. I'll have a look at the dish tomorrow and establish exactly what connections are on the "lnb".

Cheers
