This is my first post, so go easy on me!

I've recently taken on a job where the owner of the property is wiring in speaker points(recessed) into each room, thinking he can have sound in each room, from a central point, probably run by a power amp, yet to be purchased, but not really thinking how he is going to control it.
Is there an easy way to take his speaker wires to a wall mounted control point, or would it be easier to buy remote controlled recessed speakers, even if it means wiring seperate power controls as well? Can anybody point me in the right direction to take, all advice will be greatly received. If anyone knows if any products from the cyrus range that could be of use, I know someone who can get great discounts on their stuff

    Many Thanks

Depending on how he want to do it have a look at www.aca-apex.com

They do a range of in wall, rotary volume controls and then a distribution hub in the central location.

IT really needs alot more thought and detail, Cyrus kit tends to be dedicated stereo not Multiroom and doesnt sit well with multiroom, there are much smart solutions these days than Power amps and long speaker runs with volume knobs, you can have different music and sources in every room as well as party modes etc.

This could be a good Sonos install, maybe use a Sherbourne or Truaudio multichannel amplifier, with a ZP80 for each room.

Why not use ZP100s? Then you dont need the inwall control?

Incognito is an OEM brand from Opus and their Octopus system, as is the matching Jamo AVD4.6

Out of all the ABus styled systems it is the better one, it has Bass, Treble control as well as Balance and Fader ( between Speaker and Line Out) controls.

Thank you for all the advice, the incognito range looks good, but the sonos has the added advantage of being able to change what you are listening to without always trudging back to the hi fi. Have you any idea of the price for the incognto range? I can get a three zone sonos ZP100 for 1000 notes, if there is a marked difference between the two, he might go for the cheaper option

    Hi Grombo,

If that is retail, then there is something missing from there.

ZP100 have an SRP of £349.00 each and the controller is £279.00 inc VAT and thats without speakers

The Incogneto / Octopus system kit has an SRP of about £1400 inc VAT and Speakers for 4 complete zones.

Oh, BTW all the Inconeto/Octopus keypads can pass IR back to the central hub to allow you control devices. I have just had a sample Sky IR controller given to me that injects the IR from third party IR systems directly into the RF2 port and it works brilliantly, no more messing arround trying to find IR windows!!!!!.

Nice thing about sonos is you get feed back for digital music something you wont find on an Abus system. Abus may be be better suited for radio istening as sonos can only do internet radio services.
