    Is it possible?

I'm running de-css and it allows me to play any region through any normal DVD player (WinDVD, Power DVD etc) but when I try to do it through Media Centre it tells me the DVD is the incorrect region for where I live.

Is there some other software I can install that will get around this problem? Most of my DVDs are R1.

    Thanks

    Dave

Not sure what you're running when you say 'de-css', AFAIK tools like DVD Region Free and AnyDVD work with MCE, try one on a trial basis.

Sorry, it's an old version of DVD Region+CSS Free. I forgot the exact name.

    I'll try an update

At least it should be possible then

    Thanks

As far as I know it should be, but I don't run MCE myself so can't swear to it. The fact that PDVD is happy but MCE isn't may indicate M$ have implemented yet more damned region checks to defeat the workrounds provided by these utilities.

If so then ripping to hard disk may be your only option.
