Not sure if i'm allowed to talk about this here, so please delete if not

I'm trying some Mugen (On DVD) on my soft mod xbox. Both pads and ports work fine on the boot up screen, but for some reason player 2 doesn't work on Mugen. Both pads are 3rd party. Any ideas?
