Win XP {pack2 ] keeps asking to connect to MS Exchange Wizard when I try
to resize photos for Emailing

every time I try to resize photos, MS exchange wizard wants to take over
and add profiles etc. this appears to be a commercial type program, how
has it got on my bog standard home PC.?
I did a search for it on my PC didn't show but could be there Iam not a expert.
Have googled How to resize and its easy supposedly ie My computer>
My pictures> task panel “Email selected items [all OK to here}make
smaller in dialogue box click to email;; instead of opening up in my
default email as it should ,;I get MS exchange setup wizard.??
Have checked my settings but as Email working Ok and I can send photos
in Main body of email ;ie] not as a true attachment, which I could do
before;;
I can't think what has happened;; only that a auto upgrade has ??
I use Picasa as my Photo organiser and had 2 or 3 months ago used it to
do its very user friendly email which works similar to above ie select
photos picasa resizes and it sends as already attached to my email I just
add the text etc.

any one a idea What could have happened

Outlook express 6 6.00.2900.2180
no probs with firewall or anti virus I turned off to see; no difference.

Help please

Sounds like your default mail client has changed from Outlook Express to Outlook and you don't have any profiles set up in Outlook. Have you installed Office perhaps?

Anyway go to "Control Panel" "Internet Options" "Programs" tab and specify Outlook Express for e-mail if that's the client you want to use.

brian thanks for reply.
my partner says “many thanks”!

went to control>internet ops>progs
whats there
HTML---dropdown Notepad
openoffice.org2.3
E mail---blank blue
news group ---outlook express
internet call---net meeting
calendar --blank blue
contact list --address book
I then looked at the add ons and disabled
ssv browser helper
sun Java console
as they belong to open office ie Sun microsystems
rebooted
went to MS pictures and Picasa still came up wants MS Exchange
so went back to contol>. internet>. progs and tried to type outlook express
in E Mail would not accept.
Is it the free office F....things up
any more advice would be appreciated

regards Gale

Try going in to Outlook Express, go to "Tools" "Options" "General" tab and make it the default mail handler by clicking on the button near the bottom.
