Just took delivery of my 909 today. £200 off from HiFiBitZ. Not a bad deal I thought. Anyway my only complaint is take it did not come with the CD. I know Ed Selly has some copies so I hope he sees the thread and gets back to me. Anyway very impressed so far though not quite set up correctly at the moment. Makes the house shake!!! And the neighbours as well.

£200 off MRRP. Paid £290 inc delivery. Thought it was a bargain.

what colour was it? hifibitz says cherry but the picture is honey maple. according to the mordaunt short website, it only comes in black & honey maple.
also, can you hook it up to an av amp at the same time as a stereo amp - like the bk gemini?
    thanx

The 309 isn't the 909 replacement but the junior version.

The 909 was never a big seller in UK which is a shame as it was a good sub

Maybe a better question is which one sounds better with films and/ or music?

I can't help with the answer- I'm interested in the answer myself :)

The MS909 would match my MS 6.1 but also looking at the XLS200, BK Monolith & SVS PB10....

im in a similar situation. i had decided on a xls200 but with the recent price reduction of the 909 i could get one to match my ms914s, ms905c & ms902s.
lets hope someone comes to the rescue!

    Almost the same: 906, 905, 903 and a rear 905. Velodyne sub.

    :hiya:

    p.s. you don't fancy the 908's at £299?

The Monolith and PB-10 are in a completely different class as neither the MS subs nor the XLS200 will give you the depth, power or otright slam of the bigger two

There's an oldish post from Ed Selley (aka Tons of Fun) and he still has a 909 and likes it. I may go for the 909 just because of the size issue..

Fizzgog colour is cherry ( my fronts and centre are maple, but the sub is tucked away so colour is not an issue to me) and as for connections I cannot answer that as I am still a newbie at all of this. As for the slam effect even though I have yet to set it up correctly for my tastes it has more than enough.
