Sorted out back in the day using x1nick's help to play .mkv files via VMC (see sticky http://www.avforums.com/forums/home...ial-mkv-mp4-via-64bit-vista-media-centre.html) but we never quite remedied how to enable .mp4 playback 
Has anyone managed to do that successfully?
It just a massive shame as mediabrowser show's the files and the relevant info beautifully, but won't play them back
