    Hi,

I have just holidayed with a friend and she is in the market for an MP3 player. Her next comment was 'I am probably going to get a mini iPod'. Being a sinic myself, I reckon she only said this because of good ol' advertising.

So my question to everyone is -

Is there a better alternative for her to spend the budget?

The only criteria being good audio and build quality and preferably it will have an FM player built in.

    So, what are peoples thought?

    Any help would be fantastic.

    Thanks,

    Mark.

The Mini is good (I have one), but I heard the Rio Carbon recently and it is excellent. Have a look, I am unsure about the price though.

I do like the Zen Micro, but I think she would rather head below the 130 mark rather than above.

I'm always reluctant about going second hand, it's the synic in me I think. Especially as this is for someone else. Looks good though! :)

I may have to do some researching myself, the forum seems a little dry on suggestions. Ah well.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

If you have doubts buying second hand, I'd recommend getting a refurbished unit. They will be in brand new casing and as good as new - you can get HD1 or HD3 for about 129 refurbished...
