I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes

I have a whole glut of MP3's on my hard drive, stuff I've downloaded...

    ...legally of course (ahem)

the problem is the levels are all over the place, is there any free software available that can take mp3's and resave(?) them with levels preset to one I choose?

e.g. using say a program called MP3-Level-fixy-software open up an mp3 and resave it or fix it (I don't know?!?!?) to level-fixed

    :lease:

I've always used MP3Gain and it's always served me well.

It allows you to adjust volumes by album, too, which is useful, as adjusting tracks from an album all to the same average volume level can have some wierd effects when you listen to the album all the way through.
