    Hi all,

I have loads of MP3 files in albums that are stored on my computer. How do I get them onto my HD5 still in album form. It seems to just put them all over the place. I appologise if this seems a really stupid question.

    Thanks

    Meddyliol

ok meddyliol [means thinking or thinker?]

your mp3s have tags, and these tags are the identity of the file.

all of your mp3 files have to have the same artist name and album.

    i.e.

you have 5 songs by Britney Spears
you have 3 songs by Britney Speers

they will come under different artists because they are spelt different and are therefore considered a different artist.

the same goes for albums too.

your going to have ot use sonicstage to edit all this. It takes a while because the HD5 is updated after every file change.

Also you can change the track number of the file ....juts scroll right and edit it , if the songs in an album are all over the place [within the album]

You'll probably find it's easier and quicker to delete everything from your HD5, edit the albums and artist names in the left hand window of sonic stage and re transfer the correct versions, rather than going through every song on your HD5 in the right window. Doing it this way you can change multiple songs at once instead of one song at a time.

yeah its definitly better to do that because if something goes wrong you still have the correct versions and you dont have to redo it again.
