    Hi Guys,

Not entirely sure this is the right forum...but i'm sure somebody can answer me..

I have a Sony P800 and decided to try out the MP3 player... i never really used MP3's before and so don't have a huge amount of knowledge so excuse me if it sounds dumb !.... I dowloaded a couple of trackes...but the 16Mb memory stick cant hold more than one tiny one... i thought that if a reduce the file size then i'll get a drop in quality, but they will fit on until i get a bigger card, but i cant seem to find something that will reduce the file size...at least i cant see how to do it easily.... there must be an easy way !!

    any ideas guys !

    cheers

    eddie..........

Have a look a one of the many MP3 Jukebox programs around. Also 16MB is not huge but should fit a few tracks on!!!
PS probably a good idea to get a bigger card anyway, does P800 use shared memory, if it does all your pics and movieclips will be taking up space!

There are loads of MP3 resources about.
The 'standard' bit rate is 128mb/s though this is not CD quality. At 128, you get about 1 minute per meg.
A lot of poeple now capture at 160, 192 and up.
Typically you could fit maybe 9 minutes of 192 on 16 meg.
