MP3 Editing

I have 15 minute MP3 track which I would like to trim so that only the first 6min 22secs remain.

There seem to be pricey editors out there, anyone know of a freeware version which could assist.

Thanks

i know a software called audacity which is freeware but im not sure if it does what you want (i can't remember) try it anyway - go to www.download.com and search "audacity" in software, you should find it ;)

If you still have the CD, you could just re-rip using a program which does partial track rips - iTunes and CDEX are obvious contenders (very useful for dealing with those pesky hidden tracks at the end of albums). Otherwise Audacity will do the job, although you might lose something in the open-uncompress-chop-save-compress cycle.

Thanks both

punk, Audacity worked really well, had to cut tracks to play at a funeral on Friday so I appreciate your swift reply.
