Moving to Sky?

Hi guys,

I have been with TalkTalk LLU broadband for the last year and a half. Everything started off ok, but then we had problems with the router, internet disconnecting everyday and many other problems.

I've been doing some reading up on ISP's lately and while there is no fibre broadband where I live, there is BT and Sky broadband. My current speed with TalkTalk is around 9-10meg and both BT and Sky LLU have quoted me at getting around 11.3 meg speed.

Now what I really want to know is if Sky Broadband is any good, and hopefully a good step up from TalkTalk?

I have been with BT broadband in the past and never really had a problem with them, but they are a little more expensive for unlimited broadband compared to Sky.

Lastly, I will be using the broadband usually for multiplayer gaming on the Xbox/PS3, watching Netflix and general web browsing.

Any help is much appreciated :)

Cheers

Steve

I have now had Sky Broadband for about three years and must say I have really had no problems with them. Also, bear in mind that Sky Broadband Unlimited really is unlimited with no fair usage policy or throttling of your bandwidth during busy periods.

Cheers,

Martin.

Do you game much on your connection? If so, is all well with it?

Been with sky broadband for about 4 years and used to get a lot of drop outs but after I fixed the internal set up the drop outs only happened occasionally so not Sky's fault. I also had a failed router after 3 years but got a replacement from a family member so no biggy. Now on their fibre broadband and must admit I am really impressed, since install there have been no drop outs and the download speed has been a consistent 40 Mbps with upload now at 10 Mbps.
