Moving the cable to another room

Hi,
this may have already been answered but all i can find are posts relating to extending the cable from one room to another.

I have a virgin media box in the middle room of the house.
The main outside box is on the front of the house, with the cable running along the outside wall.

I now want to move the tv into the front room of the house. To me this is a simple case of drilling the required hole to the front room, cutting / shortening the existing cable and poking thorugh the new hole.

My main question / concern is if I chop off the f-connector in the middle room, do i need to go out and buy any tools to reattach to the newly cut wire?

thanks

Craig
