I've decided I'm going to get a Pany PW7. It's final resting place will be on a wall that has yet to be built. However, for a number of reasons it is likely that I will purchase and will want to use the panel 3-6 months before this new wall is available.

To buy a table top stand for such a short period seems such a waste of money so I would like to wall mount in a temporary location and then in a few months time move it to the proper location.

Note that the only thing wrong with the temporary location is that it is in a corner so fixings will still be secure there.

Does anyone see any problems with moving the panel after a few months?

BTW these wall mountings will be DIY jobs.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

why not just get the proper wall mount and put it up in the temporary place as well? your gonna have to buy it anyway. It will be far securer like that.

Sorry I might have misled you. I am planning on getting a proper mount from the outset. What I meant by DIY was that I was going to screw the mount to the wall rather than getting a professional installer in.

So the question remains ... Are there any issues with moving a wall mounted Plasma after about 3 months ?

    Cheers,

    Nigel

not really but you could get the feet from RS £50 or go for S/H universal floor stand.

Lots of forum members have mounted their own plasmas.

I believe you only need the very slightest amount of DIY knowledge to mount it properly.

Personally, I haven't got any DIY knowledge, so I paid a pro to do it!

I have every confidence in being able to mount it. I'm just wondering whether there is any obscure reason or issues to consider when I come to remove it and mount it on another wall 3 months down the line.

I.E. Is there any reason why they would become more susceptible to damage once they have been run in and settled down - I don't know of any but just checking with the experts.

    Cheers,

    Nigel
