Moving house - homeplug challenges

Hey guys, We are shortly due to move in with the in-laws for 6 month till our house is ready. They are already using a BT hub for their telephone and Internet with TP link home plugs (no wireless ones yet), but we have just installed our temp phone line into the same house with a different BT Hub. Can we use our own hard and wireless TP link home plugs through the same wiring system for our own hub without affecting theirs??? Thanx.

Long and short is no, however it is not to say it cannot be done, just not with the kit you propose.

There have been discussions on here about using different branded and speed rated kit. And other discussions about kit being able to split off as separate Vlans.

However, do you need hardwired connections? wireless would be simple to set up and as you are only going to be there for 6 mths, is it something you can put up with? Use a wireless extender?

I assume that your inlaws do use the wireless on their hub, if this is the case, use Inssider and make sure your networks are operating on totally different channels to avoid interference.

Hope this (sort of) helps?

different channels should work with homeplugs as well. (if they can do that function)
