Moving House - A few questions.

Hi guys

I will be moving house in about 6 weeks and am just trying to think what is best to do regarding my Sky.

Currently I'm in a flat with communal dish so only have normal sky (no sky plus or hd at all:thumbsdow) I should also state that i am out of contract.

We are moving into a detached house so i want SKY HD in the Living room, SKY HD in the 4th bedroom (to be a kind of movie/sports room) and (if possible - a sky magic eye link(doesn't have to be hd) from the 4th bedroom to bedroom1)

I take it this is all possible from research although not quiet sure if the magic eye link is possible off the 2nd box which in effect will be the multi room)-I'm sure some good folk could clear this up.

What my main predicament is do i try and simply ring sky up and say im moving home and want what i have mentioned above or do i just cancel at my flat and sign up again where i move into the house?

The only think that may put a spanner in the cancel/sign up again option is I subscribe to Setanta and not sure how i would get around this?

Any Ideas, tips or thoughts you knowledgeable lot?

You might get a better deal if you sign up as a new customer - if you can.
It's going to cost you to have multiroom with HD - is it worth it?
You can cable between the two bedrooms but a RF videosender would be neater.
The problem with Setanta would probably be about getting through, twice, to cancel and to subscribe again.

yeah Setanta are a nightmare aren't they. Are you saying that a RF sender with do sky and also be on par picture quality? Hay if it means less cables and having to drill through walls then its a no brainer?

Saying that, will it change the sky channels?, im confused now:confused:

They certainly are!
Yes, a video sender transmits the audio and video, and receives back the remote signals.

because Setanta is independant of Sky you could just leave Setanta until you get your new card and phone them to change the address and VC they have the sub on, saves trying to get through to cancellations and re-subbing again.

I have just moved house, and used to have Sky+, the new house only has one cable from the Sky Dish and it is coming into the house in the wrong place.

Would it be easier/cheaper for me to cancel existing contract and start an new one, in wifes name, as i am also thinking of upgrading to HD.

Thanks

Andy.

Could always phone and see what offers are available in the moving home dept? once you've heard the offers then you can decline or say you'll think about it then get the wife to phone and see what offers she gets?
