Was think of starting this for a while now so why not just do it.

Will start it off with Valerian and the city of thousand planets on 1080P bluray.

Picture quality seems to be very good and a surprisingly enjoyable movie, way better than I expected.

Its a lovely looking disc and really good in 3D too. One of those rare 3D blus that has an Atmos soundtrack as well. Not so keen on the film,,,,its OK

Lovely pics BTW

Wish I had a better camera on my phone. Unfortunately it doesn’t do justice to what I can see on the screen.

What are you using to take yours?

I just use my Samsung galaxy 7 Edge

I loved the first Jurassic World movie more than the second but the picture quality on the second seemed better. How bizarre we picked the same image to photograph. LOL

On this particular movie I decided to set the Panasonic UB420 to 2020SDR

Don’t worried about that, just post anyway and share your opinions on the movie and how the actually quality looks to you both sound and visual.:smashin:

Kong Skull Island 1080p

^Ah Lucy, probably one of the best picture quality movies around plus a bloody good movie too. I have Apocalypto sitting on my shelf still waiting to get round to watching, it's that type of a movie you need to be in the right mind set to watch.

Thanks for sharing. :smashin:

Mad Max Fury Road 1080p

Another first rate picture quality but it’s the sound that’s truly amazing IMO, the colours are so intense in this movie, a bit like the Great Wall. If you haven’t got it for your collection I would highly recommend it.

Didn't realise until I watched something about the movie that they used cirque de soleil performers to perform the stunts in the car chases.... truly awesome.

^Is that Startrek Beyond?

Dunkirk 1080p

It might not have had a lot of action but it was still a brilliant war movie.

Wow love it, id love a 7900
I don't use the dynamic iris. So hopefully the n5 shouldn't be that far off it. I did have the jvc x5000 before that and there wasn't that much of a difference for black level

I only have a couple from Everest UHD disc, tone mapped by Lumagen (a few firmware updates back) into a JVC X7500 with a lot of Devore round the room. :)

Everest 1.jpg

I like how the bunting almost looks like it comes out of the screen:

Enjoyed the film, though it is sad to know that it is a true story.

I’ve watched Oblivion but never took photos of it, will need to address that soon after looking at yours. :smashin:

BTW the blue of Lucy’s eyes is incredible.

Le Mans 66, brilliant movie.... here’s a few different views.

Your pictures always look good. I have the epson ls-10500 laser projector at the moment until I get my jvc n5. And it is very good for blu-ray but not as good for 4k I do like the clean image from it. If it was better for 4k and brighter then I think I would have kept it.

IMO laser image has the best colours, I look at images Archibald1 posts over on AVS and they consistently look the best to me so not surprised you think highly of the LS. I reckon if Epson decide to bring out a replacement in native 4K that handles HDR well it will be on many a shopping list.

If they do it will be on my short list. But they will have to make it a little bit smaller.
