i need a digital still camera that can deliver short movie clips that don't look like an episode from the keystone kops. Now I know I should buy a decent still and a decent camcorder to do both jobs. But I must to resort to compromise. I'm considering Minolta Dimage Z2 because it can handle movie mode 800 x 600 equiv. to SVCD. but a mere 15 fps. Though 30fps is available on 640 x 480 VCD qual. I've owned a Sony dsc-p1 which has adequate stills but the video mode is jerky. I was hoping that a more modern Sony might do the trick. i.e P93,97,W1 etc.. I'd also considered the Sanyo Xaxti C1 Mpeg 4 but I'm told that although one gets greater compression the video is cr*p. Olympus 770 Movie may be worth a shout also but I have no way of finding out. Anyone with a brilliant Movie mode Pz LMK.
