I've recently got a PSP and after reading some topics I've installed DVD Decrypter and PSP Video 9 so I can watch movies on the PSP.

I have a 4Gb Pro Duo memory card (largest size I could find) but have found that most movies once converted for the PSP are more than 4Gb. So how do others watch movies on their PSPs, excluded buying UMD versions of films?

    Thanks.

If you fiddle with the settings in PSP Video 9 you can get much reduced sizes. If you select mono sound this reduces the file size a fair bit.

Would also recommend DVD Shrink to remove all the film "extras" and just convert the main film.

There are some good guides on the PSP video 9 forums here

    I managed about 2/3 films on a 1Gb stick.

I'm using DVDFab Platinum 3, which rips all DVDs that I have tried has conversion to PSP format built in. It has H.264 encoding built in which is more efficient than standard MP4, but does require PSP firmware 2.8 upwards to play it back on your PSP.

DVDFab is dead simple to use too
