all i can say is ohhhhhhhhh myyyyy goooodd :
check it yourself
That looks cool, especially the destructable environments
Is that farcry 2 i see there?
no its not far cry 2, its just a DX10 test on the Crytek game engine. still impressive but id say a long time away until its seen, seeing as the new nvidia chipset has been released and Ati coming soon which are both DX9 cards. dev's are only getting to grips with DX9 fully now so its a while away. apparently Shader Path 4.0 and beyond is to be implemented in DX10.
my thread title was tongue in cheek thing before anyone has a moan
This doesn't sound too good though:
Before anyone gets too excited Direct X 10 is for Windows Vista, and wont be backward compatable with XP, Direct x 9 is all xp is gonna get.
I saw that demo too and its pretty amazing. I guess this will be the next step after what ATi and NVidia made for the 360 and PS3?
Still a fair bit away since ATi havent even released the new cards meant to be the same as whats in the 360 (R520?)
I have a feeling DX10 will come out at the same time as Vista and introduce 64bit gaming and such.
