Mounting a TV on a thin wood "beam"

I am trying to mount a 32" TV here, on that middle beam. It is 1.5" wide, what type of mount would work to put it on that beam? it just needs to tilt up and down. I am going to put my AV stuffs behind it on a shelf and my PS3!

It is fairly small beam, on which to mount a 32 inch TV. I assume that you are going to a mounting bracket.

I would suggest a small sheet of 3/4 ply screwed firmly to the beam and then screw the mounting to this.
