    Hi all,

I know this is an old chesnut but i'd like to try and draw a conclusion on the MR lip sync discs, i've had a good search on this forum and the net and it seems the R1 and R2 both had lip sync problems but occasionly someone would say the DD track was ok on R1.

A few people agreed the R4 version is spot on. Did many more of you buy the R4 version and if you did, was it better? Was a conclusion drawn or did Fox confirm the issues?

    Many thanks.

Denon 3802, Pionner DV340 - -R1 version of MR - DD track works fine but DTS has lip sync problem. Borrowing a mates region 2 to try but that could b a while.

SG in a word yes. I borrowed it off a friend and I had it for weeks because I kept putting it off. Then I made the effort and we really, really enjoyed it :) I would say buy it. I'm sure you will enjoy it :)

Been putting off buying it, Im not really into musicals of any description. I saw it on a standard TV and realised it needed a large screen to do it justice, it is a visual spectacular and now I own a PJ theres no excuse. Aha solved the lip sync problem for myself. As it is a visual feast and I dont like musicals, I will just turn the sound off....brilliant.

It is a good film and I should buy it.

IMO it is one of the best films ever, but I am sure others will say it is the worst ever, it is that sort of film. It needs to be seen BIG and LOUD.

the swooping bit around the streets and up to the windmill is fantastic, magical infact. Big and loud is where its at.

Yeah, but as a rule, I don't rent mate. If I did like it, then I'd end up paying more for the film overall. Will wait for the R4 price to drop some more then maybe take a risk. I don't like many musicals though

Same here, but its sort of a rock musical, so I can put up with that. My wife keeps pointing to it and saying we should get it and I wil probably end up getting a copy this weekend.

I almost ordered the R2 since Play are doing it cheap, but then I saw that the R2 and R4 are the same except that the R2 just has a double Amaray case and the R4 has a lovely digipak. So then I couldn't be bothered to wait for the R4 to arrive. Might take Sarge up on his offer - cheers mate :)

Geezer, couldnt agree more, but its worth pushing yourself to watch. Its not the usual musical, there isnt anything that compares with it.
