In a chatty mood today so thought I would post again

Saw Moulin Rouge the other day on DVD. Stange film but in a funny way enjoyable. One thing about the film, near the beginning there are some really very low frequency sounds that are also very loud, make my sub really work hard and blew me away. Did anyone else notice this?

Bought Pitch Black at the weekend but not had a chance to watch it yet. Technically what should I look out for, which are the best bits re Picture and Sound?

Pitch Black is a bit of a no brainer, got some good sound effects in it (also an EX/ES track) and of course its pretty dark.:p

Not a bad film to pass the time.

I though Moulin Rouge was a bit strange, different but strange. :)

The best (only!) bit about Moulin Rouge was Kylie as a fairy :D

People often choose the initial ship crash landing in Pitch Black as their demo sequence. I personally found the sound too cluttered and 'noisy' on that sequence.

The first part where the small asteroid chucks come through the ship's hull sounded better to me.

Also, I really like the look of the picture when the crew first start exploring the new planet (ie the washed out blues and browns).

Although I love the film, if the truth be known as a true demo disc for PQ and SQ there are far better ones out there.
