Motorola A780 - Just got one...lovin it

Standard Member
Had my Motorola A780 for about a month now and I truly do love this device.

To have my Phone, PDA, Full HTML Internet and last but not least GPS receiver all in one box really has simplified the number of boxes I need to carry around. Camera is ok for a phone as well (1.3mp).

Not as sleek as the V3, but from a functional perpective...absolutely bloody brilliant.

I've had my eye on this phone for a while. Love the idea of having a GPS and pda as a phone. I've had it with the lack of functionality in my V3.
I've seen the A780 from various web companies but not directly from the big four (Voda, O2, Orange, T-mob). Does anyone know when (or if) they are briniging it out?
Failing that, when you order a phone from the web with a contract, can you keep your existing number? I'm with vodafone pay monthly and outside of contract.

Its finally appearing on the UK high street  - the Link have it in stock on website and I have seen a few in the main London stores but only on a T-Mobile Contract.

Was going to buy one but why oh why didn't they include Wi-Fi.

In the end went for an XDA Mini S as I really needed Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth GPS receiver for Sat Nav.

Maybe next release

I've just got one as well and I'm really impressed.
Anyone know the exact settings for vodafone set up (MMS/WAP etc)?
I can use WAP but Vodafone Live look's very poor (no graphics etc) and when sending an MMS they won't go with attachments.:(

Any help would be appreciated. :lease:

Thanks for the reply Uridium, I'd already found this and yes it works but doesn't resolve the Vodafone Live! problem of no graphics and also not all of the articles on the home page are being listed....

I'm thinking of getting this phone. How do you find the sat nav? Whats the battery life like? and any other grips you might have about this phone.
