Quality game, the sense of speed is really accurate. Graphics are superb and the xbox pad seems to suit the game really well

If you like racing games .... go buy

    excellent,
have held off PGR and rallisport, but have asked my mate to send me this from US.

played motogp on PS2, and really found it exciting.
I realise this is a different motgp.
I like racing games with other cars on the track, so was put off rallisport and colinM.
    next one might be tocacar.

agreed..absolutely lush game. Been playing in link-up this afternoon at work and it's an arcade racers dream. More of this please on the Xbox, it's turning into a racers console..:)

I was wondering whether this game had a widescreen mode and if the slowdown when cornering that I saw in the OXM demo was still apparent in the release version.

    Thanks

There is no widescreen mode and I think the slowdown you mention must be you using the brakes as there is no graphical slowdown in this game.

    Absolutely superb game

the final game is very different from the demo which had some awful frame rate issues. The only slowdown you see n the proper game is in the replays..:)

I can confirm that this game definately has a widescreen mode and absolutly no slowdown that I've noticed, even in the middle of a 20 bike pack in the pouring rain! I'm playing the PAL version.

The Xbox determines the screen size, thus if you have a widescreen tv and set the console for widescreen, all your games will play in widescreen, I thought this was pretty obvious. As for slow down there is very very slight jerkiness, but nothing to concern. However, the game is noticeably slower in 50Hz mode and it is recommended that it be run in PAL60 (if your TV allows) for optimal results. Also use RGB if supported as standard PAL 50Hz feed really is about as poor as it gets.

I stand corrected about the widescreen mode in motoGP.
However Digitalspirit I suggest you get your facts right about the Xbox determining if the game plays in widescreen or not.

The game must have a widescreen option to play in widescreen.
The option you choose in the xbox menu is for dvd film playback.
I have a very large widescreen tv and my Xbox is set for 16-9 as it should be but there is no widescreen mode in halo, gunvalkrie,JSRF,Legasy of kain 2 I do not know about the rest as I have not plated them.
PGR has a wide mode which you have to select in the games camera option.
I have tested halo with the xbox picture set at all the options and you see the same onscreen in4:3 letterbox or 16:9.

Fair comment. As I have only 3 games, Halo, Burnout & Moto GP (the latter of which are widescreen optimised) I presumed this was due to the control panel setting (as there are no in game settings for screen size as with the PS2). Halo looks in perspective in 16:9, but as you state, it also looks normal in 4:3. So I stand corrected. Sorry.

No, it isn't. I tried it and it seems to be a wide-angled camera rather than an aspect corrected widescreen mode. It distorts too much for me. I spent about 10 minutes banging into walls before going back to the default setting.

I hope we get more proper widescreen games soon. The PS1 is better served by widescreen games than the Xbox currently is. I know the PS1 has a much bigger catalogue, but still...

    Thanks for the info.

Rallisport Challenge looks superb and has a proper widescreen mode but it might be a little too arcadey for some people. I'd say its at least worth renting just to see the mediteranean rally stages, best graphics I've seen on X-Box.

    Thanks
