I'm thinking of getting a replacement phone for my ageing 3320, but I was wondering what the most powerful mobile is? By which, I mean the actual power it has to run emulated games and homebrewed games? I'm not too bothered about video messaging or anything, but I'm looking for something that I can play Doom on and have it running at a decent whack, etc. Can anyone suggest a powerful mobile phone (other than the N-Gage, which I'm not to keen on the shape of)? Thanks.

How about a Nokia 6600...? Although there might be something better now.

The 6600 is a good allround phone which is capable of playing N-gage games, but there are better phones around now. Have you checked out the new N-Gage QD? I've had both the original and this new one and IMHO the QD is much better (it's easier to use and looks much better).

Now that's a nice phone, does it play N-Gage games like the QD and 6600?

checkout the linux driven motorola e680. its a multimedia device with 3D java, 8 way joystick, simultaneous button press, 240x320 screen, 3D stereo sound, twin speakers, 50M memory with 1GB SD card storage, 300mhz xscale processor.

    checkout its jbenchmark scores here
    http://www.jbenchmark.com/result.jsp
it leaves all the others standing.

    cost around £300
