I just found a CRT projector on a Sony site aimed at the home cinema market.

But my jaw dropped when I saw the price

    £27,000

    Take a look

    Not quite :)
Try the Barco 1209 at around £30k. Although there's some disputing whether it's aimed at the home, it certainly is used in many homes.
Used CRTs tend to drop in price quite a lot, so some of us are lucky to have picked them up second hand for a decent price and still working just brilliantly.

Na that's nothing the MADRIGAL MP9 sells for £45000.
It specifically designed for home cinema and a very highly tuned Elecrohome chasis.

For my money though the BarcoCine MAX properly setup will beat both. - Bargin at £33,000.
