Well ... it's been 7 years ...

Never managed to see The Smiths live, but Morrissey was great at Blackburn in 2002.

If this stirs your interest, be sure to checkout the unofficial website @

Only thing to add is - see you there on 22nd May ! (and Franz Ferdinand supporting !)

Morrissey is to play a rare one-off show in his hometown of Manchester later this Spring. The star who, as a Smith, was recently voted No.1 in the NME's poll of the Greatest Artists of All Time will play at the city's Arena on May 22 2004. Tickets for the show will go on sale at 9.30am on Saturday February 28, priced at £27.50, with a limited number available at £22.50.

24 hour credit card hotline: 0871 2200 260.
Buy online at or via the venue on 0870 190 8000 / 0161 832 1111

The date will be Morrissey's first show in his hometown of Manchester in 12 years and the first on UK soil since his triumphant performances in London, Birmingham and Glasgow towards the end 2002.

Rounding out the unique bill is support from Franz Ferdinand and Damien Dempsey.

'You Are The Quarry', Morrissey's first album for seven years, is nearing completion and will be released by Attack! Records, through Sanctuary on May 17th 2004, preceded by the single 'Irish Blood, English Heart' on May 10th.
