Morning Wood With The D700

That is a great shot, but I would have liked a bit more light to see the bark of that tree.

That is a great shot.
Thank you :)

You certainly get about, great photo. How long have you had the D700 ?

Bill
I sure do :D
I've had the D700 since October.

Thank you :)
There is detail on the tree's bark, but it's lost due to the size compression and displaying it against a bright background.

Ooohhh thats a quality shot.

If I am learning this photography stuff right I would say that's a hell of a DOF you have there (Right?)!

It looks almost prehistoric...

Simply stunning.

Beautiful photo. As usual.:smashin:

Great stuff, that is some location

Stunning shot, really beautiful congrats!

Personally, I might have tried putting the tree slightly off centre on the left and showing a bit more of the view and sunset on the right... but that's just me, it's lovely as it is.

Thank you all , sorry for the late reply.
My internet connection went AWOL yesterday

Beautiful - I'll have one of those on a canvas 40" across if you please :)

There's isn't really that much DOF, to be honest.
I set the camera to f8 and focused on the tree.

I noticed the tree being central when I was processing it.
There most have been a reason why I took it like I did, but I can't remember now.

Same tree a few seconds later, but in B&W and on the rule of thirds

Looks great 'on black' - glorious light and a fantastic tree! So gnarly!
