    Hi,

Does anyone know how to increase the ram on the xbox? It's currently 128MB? What type is it? where to get it from? How to install?

I'd like to increase the RAM to allow me to play more of the larger MAME roms as anything above 20MB causes Mame-X to Crash :(

    Thanks,

    Scott

It normally has 64mb. It is very hard and expensive to do a ram upgrade on the xbox. You will definitely not be able to do it yourself and I believe the chips required are also very hard/expensive to come by.

The only place I know that does it is in the USA and they charge $60 --- http://www.upgrade123.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=85

    Cheers explicitlyrics,

Yeah, i thought it was 64MB. doh!, Sending it to the US is a little OTT. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a uk modder who can do it.

Maybe it's the version of Mame-X i'm using? (beta5.) Does anyone if the later versions of mame-x or other xbox mame emulators cope with the lack of ram issue?

And if so where to get hold of them?

    Thanks,

    Scott
