Should I spend more money on a centre speaker or on a pair of rears? My setup is as follows:

    Yammie A2
    Wharfedale Valdus 400's as fronts
....need advice on centre and rears for a budget of £150...

    thanks

I'd spend more on the center, the center is possibly more important than the front l&r for films as a lot of the dialogue is anchored to the center.

Try and get a center speaker to match your existing fronts, and don't worry as much about matching the rears with the fronts.

Centre. The most important channel, you need a high quality centre. Try and find the matching centre to your L/Rls (Wharfdale Valdus)

Out of the two options you have given I would go for a centre, the Wharfdale Valdus centre can be picked up quite cheap. To contact Wharfedale UK, telephone 0845 458 0011, they should be able to help with a local dealer.

IMO the most important channel in a full 5.1/6.1 system is the sub. ;)

    I ain't no copy cat. :)

    Indeed.

Sub, center, fronts, rears. In that order.
