Marvel reveals new film plans including Hulk 2

Marvel has revealed plans for several new superhero movies including a Hulk sequel.

Hulk 2 is scheduled for 2006, along with X-Men 3 and four new comic adaptations: Captain America, Nick Fury, Namor and Iron Fist.

But Marvel and 20th Century Fox have delayed the long awaited Fantastic Four movie. Originally set to premiere at Christmas 2004, it now won't be seen until summer 2005.

A sequel to Daredevil is in the works, as is a spin-off movie based on Jennifer Garner's character Elektra, reports Teletext.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Cage will play John Blaze in Ghost Rider, the story of a motorcyclist possessed by a demon. The film starts shooting next year.

So along with hell boy early next year weve got all these to look forward to. Ghost Rider and Captain America sound like they could be good but Nicholas Cage as Ghost rider:rolleyes: :suicide:

Ive got a feeling about X men 3 (maybe Garrett could confirm this) spoiler:
the ending of X men 2, reminded me a bit of the phoenix saga, where jean grey turned into phoenix??? I don't think Jean grey is dead

Anyone else heard anything about any other comic book adaptations on the way?

Your right with your spoiler Shoka there was a few things that pointed to it.
For those in the know I wonder if an organisation called the Hellfire Club turn up in the next film.

Shoka look what I got at weekend.

I swear I heard somewhere that there was going to be a silver surfer movie as well, anyone lese heard this?

Glad to hear about the Hulk sequal, on the way soon on Comic book adaptations is The Punisher (I hope they dont dilute the violence), fans of Dark Horse comics may have read a really good series recently called Criminal Macabre, which is currently being turned into a movie, a detective who works with ghouls, vampires and werewolves etc etc, the detective in it is one of the most arrogant stubborn and funniest characters i have read about in a long time, again i hope this is not diluted.

A punisher movie would be wicked but I think it will be very doiluted and more of a character based movie, I dont think they could make a punisher movie without it being an 18, which I cant see happening, studios are runnning awaya from the 18 certificate trtingto make everything more family accesable.

I personally can't stand all these superhero films - I just think they're daft. I can't argue with people who do like them though, no disrespect to you - it's just down to personal taste, but does anyone agree with me when I say that these films are just churned out by the studios because they know that it's really easy to generate a load a hype about them as you've got an instant fan base already set up from the comics. They're practically guaranteed to make they're money back from the loyal fans and then they just keep churning out sequels to rake in as much cash as they can.

    Garrett and Shoka

Spoiler definitely seems right to me, but I'm not what they'll do with her. Given the feel of the previous 2 films I don't think including the Hellfire Club or the Shi-Ar Empire would fit in too well with what's been developed so far. Believe it or not, it seems a bit too far-fetched to me!!

Other news I've heard on X3 is that Storm probably won't be in it.

I'd like to see an appearance by Morph. Apocalypse would be nice too.

With regards to the Hellfire Club I think they could slot it in with regards an evil team wanting to be in charge but they would have to change the ending as that would make the film really long and a massive budget. Mind you with reference to the spoiler the 3rd film could build up to it for X4. Also Mr Sinister could be a good villain with an evil team.
I think Lady Deathstrike is to be in the new film as well.
Shoka and evilljohn I take it you both know what happened in The Avengers comic, between X-Men 137 and X-Factor 1.

Storm (Halle Berry) is taking on the mantle of Catwoman.

There as also been talk of a Wonder Woman film.

Shoka the Jean Grey bust is 6.25 inches tall, I also have these for my DVD’s.

Mr. Sinister and the Nasty Boys could be quite good, but Sinister has quite a complicated background if they want to do it properly so may not be feasible.

I'd heard that Lady Deathstrike had definitely been written into X3 (my guess is to bulk out Wolverine's past with some fairly chunky flashbacks since they've definitely got some history!).

I doubt they'll be going too far with build-up for an X4 as I'd guess by then a lot of the principal actors may be wanting out of the franchise.

I'd love to see the episodes with the Phalanx turned into a movie since they're probably my favourites (with the X-Men having to work with Mr. Sinister) but again that's pretty far-fetched for the casual movie-goer.

Garrett, could you tell me what you're on about between those issues? Either on here or PM. Chances are I already know, but I don't know to what you're referring.

    PS: Those bookends are Fantastic!!

Dont think deathstrike being in X3 is feasable - spoiler:
She got filled with adamantium in the second one

Garrett not sure what story line you are talking about refresh my memory. and the bookends are amazing

It would be nice to see a bit more of Kitty pride, and collossus, and maybee see the introduction of beast or Gambit.

For Shoka and eviljohn: Really big Spoiler looking could give future X-Men films away.

If you didn’t know Jean Grey/Phoenix killed herself whilst sane in X-Men 137 as she kept becoming the Dark Phoenix (a dangerous insane being a result of Masterminds mind medalling). In The Avengers they found a cocoon at the bottom of Boston Bay in it was Jean Grey. The Phoenix had not merged with her but had put her there in suspended animation but had taken all her thoughts to see what humanity was all about

That's why I expect Deathstrike to be in X3 as images from the past. Then again, with her mutant powers...

More of the other students would be nice. I still don't understand why Colossus is there though. Maybe Omega Red will be in X3!!! :D

Both Beast and Gambit are in X2, but not as you might expect. Dr. Hank McCoy is on one of the TV screens in the background explaining his pro-mutant views, whilst Remy Lebeau is prominent on Stryker's mutant database (along with many other familiar names if you pause it and have a look!)

Thanks Garrett, I only knew the first half of that one. I can't see them ever getting that far with the films though - there's so much more to be done in the meantime!!

Yes I though that but that is one of the rumours.
Magneto had a lot of baggage which has nut been covered in the films so with Mr Sinister they could do the same.
An other villain I though that may have been in X-Men 2 was The Sentinels but could they do the CGI for them?

    Spoiler for X-Men 3
3 Famkie Jenssen is giving the X-Men 100% commitment, top woman.

Interesting there Garrett. I've been sincerely hoping that they don't put the sentinels in the films as they always seemed ludicrously big and impractical. As you may have gathered, I'm really impressed by the way they've not gone for the complete fantasy/powers aspect of the X-Men and concentrated on the stories and characters which is the strongpoint of the series to me.

More on Magneto could be interesting, explaining why he's a broken man (apart from the Poland thing) with Pietro and Wanda.

And of course they're bound to being in at least some of the Mystique/Nightcrawler/Rogue/Sabretooth/"Guy from FoH who I can't remember the name of" background which will be nice.

The guy from Friends of Humanity who's Sabretooth's half brother. Name escapes me though.

    I get them from here.

He has the new stuff here at very good rates, plus he only charges what it cost him to post it to you. If you look at the end of the DC or Marvel section to see there bust, statues and bookends. This month for JLA fans is a Flash bust and Atom Statue, the Jean Grey statue will still be available.

I thought of that but he is pretty one dimensional with no plotting just smashing his way through everything. Not unless there is a third party involved Magneto or introducing Banshee and Black Tom Cassidy.
What about a story with Protius.

Ah just thought who could be the villain in X3 and the story line could be all tied up in the film. The person I mean is mentioned in the spoiler.

Any thoughts on Magneto line “are you sure you saw what you thought you saw”.

I thought that about Magneto's line as well.

Kane's got a reasonable background, it would help add to Xavier's background which has largely been brushed over.

At the end of the day, there's so many interesting and varied storyline's they could choose from (we've not even touched on Bishop and Cable, although I can't see that making a good movie) that we can barely even begin to speculate. It's definitely got to have Deathstrike and Phoenix in though!

    Shhh

You could have a Magneto, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch story.

Why can’t they have a X-Men film every 2 years instead of 3 the reason X2 came out 3 years after the first one instead of 2 was the actors strike. Spider –Man is going to be every 2 years.
