I'm just wondering peoples budget ratio on a/v equipment. Once my setup is finished its going to be something like 70% on audio and 30% on visual. Should it be the other way around? or more equal? I bought the telly first and now I'm thinking perhaps more should have been spent on it (my budget has increased from what I originally planned).

Anyway just interested. Nick.

Although its ages since i bought most of my stuff (8 years i've had my tv!) the ratios are probably the same as yours (ish)

Say £800 on the TV but for audio (assuming you mean the full package, amp speakers etc etc).....Hmmmm, £800 on FrontSpeakers, £350 Centre, £300 rears. £350 on the Amp - £1800 - 69% Audio :)

Next step is a new tv (lcd, plasma or dlp rp) so that'll change the ratios somewhat ;)

All depends on your priorities.

Visuals are my thing, so £2000 on the TV (9986) and £400 on the Cinema system. (Denon DHT500) Pictures are breathtaking and the sound is amazing considering the modest price tag. The Denon is also a stonking Progressive DVD player.
