I would ignore it and go for the 309 which is a much better sub. Alternatively is the ruark vita 50 and 100 or the xls200 from www.bkelec.com

its good for movies, has the shake the room effect and is good for a first sub (like mine) but doesnt cut it for me for music. Wouldnt recommend it with sub/sat as integration of mine with fronts set to small was hard, much easier with fronts set to large. with floorstanders that is.

by the way mine was an impulse buy from richer sounds, £150 and i dont regret it at all, was not sure whether i wanted a sub so went for the cheapest good brand one i could at the time, and i dont think it was a rip off at all.

Hi thanks for the replies. I have Mission M74i floorstanders. I have had a subwoofer - Mordaunt and Short TS200i which i have had for about 6 years. I just want something smaller to fit into a corner beside our T.V. Is the 308 Shielded?

Again all advice would be welcome. Don't want to spend too much money. My wife has just had a baby. Who's wants to buy a TS 200i? Good reviews in it's day.

If you want something small the xls200 is the best of the bunch but the most expensive at £275 + postage.

I had some pictures from the 'budget sub test results' thread as they arnt on there any more and I havetn kept them but the xls200 is quite a bit smaller thent he 309 and has now been upgraded to a 275 watt amp from a 200 watt unit.

I have the MS 309 sub and am happy with it. Good in movies and excellent with music, but as with all subs, I had to do a lot of experimenting before I found the sweet spot(sub location)

Though not very small, the finish is good and it does not look out of place when in view.
