...title. This seems to be the fashionable way to entitle your thread. What ways do you prefer? Is it the teaser or more fact based approach? I prefer the facts so that I know where I am going and not drawn into a misleading thread

I try and make my thread titles as explicit as possible. Using the teasing style doesn't really work when the preview of the first few words is available.

I also much prefer reading threads that aren't trying to drag me in through mystery. Apart from this one of course. :)

Those that like to use teasers in their thread titles won't appreciate the fact that I often edit them so that people can see what the thread is about without clicking on the link to open it.

In fact I'm sure that Dr Diversity is one of the people who may have noticed that their thread titles are often edited.

There is also a reminder that comes up when you click New Thread that says
I find it quite annoying having to go into a thread to find out what it's about. No doubt someone will now find dozens of mine that do exactly this :D

    HI,

I mix and match my thread titles, depending on what the post is going to be about. Sometimes I put explicitly clear titles, so that if it's important news, people who are interested can get access to it quickly. At other times, I'll tease you folks a little, to get your brain's interest peaking.
