Monsters - Amazon.de

JEEZ! its only just come out at the cinema....

I guess they are expecting it to flunk at the cinema so hoping to make it up on sales, supposed to be a good film, though seems to be more of a love film than a monster film

The release date is May so I would expect a UK version earlier than that, with 3 months being an average between cinema and dvd/blu-ray release.

Nice. Another "genuinely good movie gets a Steelbook release" shocker

Fingers crossed for decent artwork.

Watched this the other night and I must admit that it's a complete bore. Don't get me wrong, I usually enjoy this type of synopsis but only 10mins of half excitement during an 1hr 30mins film leaves a bitter taste.

This is one I won't be investing in so 'I'm out'!!!

monsters was an absolutely awesome movie, and done on a budget of $800k!!!!! considering 'buried' had a budget of $3m this is an early masterpiece!

Synopsis:
Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after new life forms began to appear there and half of Mexico was quarantined. Today, the American and Mexican military struggle to contain these alien creatures. In particular, here, we focus on a US journalist who agrees to escort a shaken tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

So I agree it should be a monster/alien film but everything I've read says thats not the point of the movie and its not really about that, thats just the back drop. This is going to be a blind buy for me but I havent read one bad review about this film so far but they all say its not an action film and more of a love film. Chemistry must be good though as they are now married.

Also rumours of a sequel

I never read a synopsis before I watch a film but this is one I wish I had. I admit going by the title I expected more and going by other forums I wasn't the only one.

I would avoid a blind buy on this (apart from the avid steelbook collectors of course) and rent before purchase.

I always like to know a little bit about a film before I go in with the wrong expectations and what I loved about Monsters was exactly that it wasn't what you would expect from this kind of film.

Actually having now read all about this film on wikipedia, it is clear this film is more important and brilliant than ever!

What did I expect from a forum where people rather discuss tin boxes than films ? :p

Either way...film still sucks. In my opinion that is which I'm entitled to of course.

I get the feeling this film is another Cloverfield - Raved about by the press and arty brigade but one i found genuinely boring.

Since when was Cloverfield "raved about by the [...] arty brigade" ?

It was a hugely commercial and profitable film. Just because Monsters has giant creatures in out, it actually is nothing like Cloverfield, as just about every review has pointed out.

well, clearly i do not understand this worthless comment.

Perhaps your not wanted here, maybe you should go find other forums which dont feature tin boxes whatever the f@&k they are!!

Let's keep it civil please gents.

I actually owe you an apology. I thought you were being sarcastic. Sorry dude, I thought Monsters was great (and I wrote about it quite a bit in the movies at the cinema section).

Steelbook or not, i'll be avoiding it.

I watched this at the weekend.

Steelbook order cancelled.

:thumbsdow

Ha ha! Don't get me wrong, if that's confirmed artwork then it'll make a lovely a steel but the film wouldn't do it equal justice.
