I am a lot happier with Monkey Golf than Monkey bowling. Keep going - it's worth it.

I'm a bit frustrated with the main game at the moment though.
Beginner - I can just do it now all the time. I've unlocked the 3 extra levels and can do them every time as well.

Advances - I can get to level 15 without losing a life nearly every time, but then I just can't do level 15 despite a long time practising.

Expert - I can't do level 4. I tend to fall off and when I don't there doesn't seem to be anywhere near enough time.

Where are you on the 3 difficulties?

I too have completed all of the beginner level and the three extra ones..........

Advanced i'm up to the level, and i can't remember the number, where it's sloped all the time. You go straight on to start, over an incline and then down the other side, then you have to turn round and go back and so on for about three to four times. I've worked out that you can miss the first one out by jumping the ball off the edge of the start position but then i just cant seem to negotiate my way round to get to the end of the level.

I have not tried Expert level yet........got to get a bit more practice in!

That's Advanced 15 - same place as me.

More practise is no doubt the answer.

can do all of beginner no probs including extra levels.

Can do Advanced on one life reliably, and do the extra levels - apart from EX5 - which is like Advanced 30, but with another few rings to get over - including one that is spinning end over end. And because it is an EX level, you can't practice it...

Adv 15 is hard initially, but keep as close as possible to the inside and you will be allright. Adv 30 took a lot of practice, but is now easy(ish) to do. Keep practicing going round smoothly, keeping your position on the platforms and changinging direction onto the next platform. Easier said than done though.

I have done Expert, but only using about 20/30 continues. I can get through to Expert 12 before losing a life, bizarely as 12 is quite easy. Too cocky I guess. Expert 7 is v. hard, but again do-able with lots of practice.

Currently Monkey ball is being kept out by Pikmin - on the 30th ship part...

you can practise the expert levels.

Go to the tabs for BE/AD/EX and just go right again. Another page with the extra levels tabs appears.

    Learn something new every day!

Bet you cant practice them until you've actually played them in the game proper though can you?

Got a 210 on Monkey bowling, didn't like Monkey golf.

Get to level 30 on advanced without losing a life, then always manage to lose at least one.

Played to expert 7, but not played for a while, got distracted by Resident Evil!

Stevegreen, just stay to the inside of that level, it is tricky but you will be amazed, once you do it once, you will do it easy afterwards.

 after a few days off playing Pikmin instead of Monkey ball, I have a go and what happens - Expert Level 7 suddenly takes about 15 attempts to get past...

    AAARGH!

    Top game.

This thread reminded me how much fun SMB is!

Just scored 212 on Monkey Bowling this morning (my highest!).

Monkey Target is a measly 1050... going to have to play some more... shame! :)

    Looking forward to SMB2 already....

er how many rounds are you people using to get 1000+ on monkey target?!

and how do you get the extra rounds in the main game?

I can't comment on Monkey Target as I have only played it a few times and my best is less than 100 (with 5 goes)

As fot the extra levels in the msin game. If you complete beginner levels 1 to 10 without losing a life it opens three extra levels. Apparently the same goes for advanced (though I am some way from that skill level - still stuck on AD 15). Expert "only" requires you to complete the 50 main levels without using a continue (an unattainable dream really).

There is also a master level that I read about that requires some more superhuman monkey action, but I can't remember what you have to do to get that - I'll post it when I come across it again.

Well we (g/f and I) play Monkey Target 10 rounds at a time.... (I think thats the default... dont remember now though).

To be honest Monkey Target was a nightmare... we must have played 100 rounds before we got anywhere near scoring... once you figure it out though it becomes a little easier...

Talking of which.... just upped my Monkey bowling score to 223...

    A good day!

ah I was getting about 190 with 10 rounds of monkey target.

as for the main game I'm stuck on AD 15 as well, the key seems to be to keep the ball moving at all costs buts its bloody tricky.

My best score on Monkey target is 2480 over 15 rounds.

Took me a while to get totally used to the control system and i now realise that its best to be facing into the wind when you drop down on to the target you are aiming for. I actually managed to land on one of the 500 pointers too with the help of the 'sticky' ball.

Unlocked Monkey Golf over the weekend, just got to get to grips with that now.........first score for 18 holes...........99  nearly as bad as i play in real life!!!!!

Still stuck on ADV15 on the normal game but have been playing the mini games more!

This thread has been a disaster! :)

I've got far too much time on my hands... ;)

Monkey Bowling is up to 265 this morning... and now I feel like 300 is possible its going to kill me trying to get there...

My best score on golf is about 73 I think... there are a couple of holes I just cant figure out how to complete reliably...

The "wedge of cheese" shaped slope hole and the "half pipe" with a gap hole...

    Any tips anyone? :)

I can do the cheese wedge hole - it was a trial and error thing to get the speed right. You need to aim at the center of the top and play around with the power. It's a shame there isn't a practise mode for each hole.

As for the half pipe - I have absolutely no idea how to do that.

I struggled on the same ones too.

Just sat there scratching my head on the half pipe hole, racked up a 10 in no time at all...........hate to see the score if it didnt cut out at 10 shots!

The last hole is a right B@*&%rd too.........

I'm sussing out the spin on bowling too now, can get the ball to hit the 'pocket' most times now, just dont seem to be able to generate strikes reliably, mostly 9 spares with the occasional strike........NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Well rediculous amounts of play today have improved bowling and golf....

The bowling is fairly predictable now... line up the delivery with the "grey" bars on either side... as close to full power as possible... and full spin in the appropriate direction...strike every time...

If you dont line up with the grey bars each time its just slight adjustments on power and spin... still produces strikes most times...

I think I've figured the Golf too now... (working from home is not happening today! So I have to figure it all out today so that I can work tomorrow!)...

The cheese wedge is a case of aiming a fraction to the left of the corner where the "flat" piece you start on joins the wedge... 80yds.. power set to about one "square" less than full... thats a hole in one or close...

The "half pipe" is a case of aiming just to the left or right top corner of the piece of pipe you start on... 80 yds... club to about 75% power... it throws you over to the other piece of pipe every time then...

    Hope that helps....

Back to bowling and the elusive 300......

    Mark.

Any more updates on how people are getting on?

Sussed Bowling now and tend to play the Challenge mode more now, managed to get 7 clear out of the 10. Still practising!

Progressed to Adv21 on the normal game.

Best score on golf is 62.........still have not managed to do the 'wedge' hole properly and reliably yet and the 18 just completely annoys me!
